We're offering a new type of membership for NHS GPs working in England.

The MDU has recently launched a new type of membership for NHS GPs working in England, called Transitional Benefits. This comes as a response to the government's recent announcement that it plans to introduce a state-backed indemnity scheme for primary care in England.

It also means we're able to cut membership fees for GP members in England by around 50%, while still offering the same excellent standard of support you're used to receiving from us.

Our chief executive Dr Christine Tomkins discusses the background to Transitional Benefits in this issue's editorial, and there's more information available on our website. But to give you a run-down of the main points, we've put together the following additional resources.

Our two short animations cover the main points of why we're introducing Transitional Benefits, as well as the main features of this new type of membership.

Our professional services director Dr Matthew Lee also presented a webinar to cover the scheme in more detail and answer some of your questions. You can watch this below, and it's also hosted on our website.
